Elipse Power Renewable
Elipse Power Renewable is a platform for automating and managing wind and solar farms, and it can integrate all and every turbines’ and IEDs’ manufacturers used in the substations into a single hub. This solution features a standardized modelling tool for wind turbines that strengthen reliability of data in the auditing process, and thus reduces financial losses in contracts with vendors.
Auxillary modules may be added to the platform, such as Submodule library 2.7 for sending data to the ONS, and the Disturbance library for visualizing and analyzing any disturbances generated by the wind turbine’s protections. All modules are integrated into a single operating interface, which increases efficiency and operational security.

Disturbance records from intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) are important sources of information to understand the system’s behavior and spot problems on the power network. These files can be used in the post-operational phase by distribution companies’ engineering teams for a deeper analysis of any disturbance in the system. ADMS and EMS supervisory and analytical solutions can process the files automatically in order to identify faults and the network’s dynamics.
Usually, each IED vendor supplies its own tools for collecting oscillograph data. This means a utility may have to handle devices from several different vendors to perform similar tasks in its system. Since not all vendors can generate data in a widely known standard, such as COMTRADE, nor may proprietary systems be configured to automate this process, retrieving oscillograph data can be a really difficult and costly task for distribution companies.
Over time, these collected files can grow larger both in size and in number, therefore making it increasingly more difficult for users to associate any particular failure to its original file. Disturbance repositories are created without any backup or discard policy, which makes retrieving these benefits harder and harder.
The Elipse Power Disturbance Manager is a tool designed specifically for collecting, storing, and analyzing oscillograph data, regardless of the IED vendor.
Oscillograph data can be collected via different protocols and means; the collected files are organized in an SQL database catalog, and COMTRADE files are saved in any repository on the network. The collected files are visualized and analyzed by E3Viewer or by any third-party, COMTRADE-compatible tool.
