Elipse Water is available in 27% of Brazilian municipalities

Launched less than a year ago, Elipse Software’s platform for water and wastewater automation steps up in Brazil

Basic sanitation is a right of the Brazilian people. However, the current situation of this issue in Brazil is not very encouraging. According to the population census conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística – IBGE) in 2022, nearly 1/4 of the population (24.3%), which is roughly 49 million people, still have no access to proper sanitation infrastructure.

This context has lead Elipse Software, the global software developer, with extensive experience in the field, to take it a step further and develop a SCADA platform dedicated to optimizing management and operation of water supply and wastewater treatment systems. The intelligent modules and features of Elipse Water help water supply providers bring down theirs costs and reduce their operational losses, and these benefits are responsible for the great response the software has had in Brazil.

Officially launched in the country less than a year ago, Elipse Water has been ever since operating in the biggest companies in the field. One example is Aegea, the Brazilian leader in the water and wastewater market, which invested in this solution for better managing their sanitation network in Rio de Janeiro state and affiliates elsewhere.

“For IOC (Integrated Operations Center) management, we chose Elipse Water, the solution provider that integrates different datasets with friendly, accessible and flexible interfaces, which in turn provided us with fast-paced scalability. This was a great choice that has more than met our expectations,” says Luiz Couto, Executive Director of Águas do Rio’s Integrated Operations Center, a concession from Aegea Group.

According to data from the companies working with Elipse Water, the software is currently either operating or programmed for use in 16 Brazilian states and at least 1,526 municipalities, which corresponds to 27% of the 5,570 municipalities in the country. These numbers are very encouraging to Alexandre Balestrin Corrêa, Elipse Software’s Development Director and one of the creators of the platform.

“Elipse Water is more than a platform: It’s the next step in sanitation. Combining technology, integration, and efficiency, the software is transformative for companies searching for control, scalability, and reduction of losses,” he says.
