Elipse Drivers – February/2025
Check out the latest developments for Elipse drivers
To better integrate our platforms with several types of equipment and automation systems, we at Elipse Software present a portfolio that currently offers more than 470 different drivers. We focus on developing new drivers on a regular basis, as well as on improving and adapting the existing ones for projects that require customized needs.
UPDATES:
Elipse Modicon Modbus Master (ASC/RTU/TCP) – v4.0.13: driver for communicating with any device supporting Modbus protocol. Works in master/slave mode with the device, and can communicate with any ASCII, RTU, or TCP/Ethertnet formats. Version 4.0.13 features adjustments to prevent locking in List Control component on driver Modbus dialog.
DNP 3.0 Master v4.0.57: Distributed Network Protocol (DNP) is a communication protocol used in SCADA and remote monitoring systems. It is widely used due to its open standard, which allows any vendor to develop DNP3 devices compatible with other DNP3. Version 4.0.57 features the option “Stop Listen After Accept”, which is triggered if the option “Listen for connections on port…” is enabled on Ethernet tab. Thus, the driver is no longer on Listen mode after receiving a connection. Additionally, the driver now stops waiting for responses if it becomes still.
DNP 3.0 Slave v4.0.71: This version features the following updates:
- Option for sending Class 2 and 3 events more quickly, requiring no confirmation from the application, since SOE events are supposed to be reported only in Class 1.
- Option for absolute individual deadband, in addition to the existing percentual individual deadband.
- When the option “Generate Events on First Write” is set, an event is not generated at the driver’s first write if the quality is bad.
- Protection to keep invalid float values from incoming.
- Support to read requests with variation 0 and qualifier different from 6 has been added to this version.
- Improved rules for sending unsolicited messages so as to increase dispatch speed.
- Larger limit for maximum number of days ahead of current time so that writes be accepted. Earliest data limit set for 01/01/1980 and fixed handling of NULL writes.
- Response to read request of strings with qualifier 6 and incorrectly stipulated index (integrity of static objects). It also responds with ERROR to requests with other qualifiers.
- The driver can now send string objects (110 or 111) with indexes larger than 255.
- Performance for handling messages coming from the master has been improved.
- Revised UDP communication. The driver now responds to the IP/Port used by the master in each connection.
- Revised maximum size for an application message. It is now actually limited to the maximum informed by the user at Max App Size property.
- Fixed bug for reporting events whose offset accumulates at each additional connection.
- IOKit logs’ size has been updated.
IEC 61850 3.0.50 (25 connections): client server for collecting data and controlling IEC-61850-based protection devices in the electricity automation sector. Version 3.0.50 features the following updates:
- TimeQuality property for Tag Quality was mapped as follows: Invalid timestamp: 216 (Non-specific local timestamp, substatus = 6; the previous version indicated 192) Clock Failure: 220 (Local Override Local Timestamp, substatus = 7) Clock not Syncronized: 224 (invented), substatus = 8.
- Any file type can now be downloaded from the IED, not only COMTRADE files.
- It is now possible to retry the GI after a failed attempt when enabling a report. And if the write is enabled for DatSet property and it fails, it will now register the Dataset proper value after it goes blank, instead of the former behavior of recording two blanks in a row. This bug has been fixed for this version.
- The driver would go on a loop if it could not reconnect to a disconnected IED after an initialization failure caused by sending an extemporaneous Release Request. This bug has been fixed for this version.
- Possible memory leaks and unanswered MMS transactions have been fixed for this version.
- The PRP service has been updated to allow block operations.
- Faulty generation of IOKit logs has been fixed for this version.
IEC 61850 Server 1.0.18: This version features the following updates:
- Time quality’s bit 2 (clock not synchronized) is cleared as soon as any value gets written by the application.
- The driver’s documentation (User’s Manual — English and Portuguese) has been updated.
- IOKit logs’ size has been updated.
Siemens M-Prot (PPI, MPI, ISOTCP) v4.0.33: driver for communicating with industrial networks of the Siemens S7 PLC family (S7-200, S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, and S7-1500). For this version, IOKit has been updated, and Device field has been automatically added to TagBrowser’s tags.
Driver BACnet (BACnet/IP) v1.2.117: BACnet is a communication protocol that provides a consistent, interoperable standard for data exchange in building automation systems. The latest version fixes a failure on the listing of Tag Browser’s objects and properties for devices not supported in packs segmentation.
