Power outage is, today, one of the most discussed issues in the world scenario. To circumvent this problem, alternative sources such as solar and wind, for example, are gaining space. A search for technologies capable of improving power distribution and supply is also increasing at exponential levels due to this troubling reality.
Aware of this context, Elipse Software and its Asian partner Baufarm promoted a Roadshow with the purpose of presenting some of their solutions for this sector in five large Taiwan cities (Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung). This event was held between April 22 and 30, and gathered 700 attendees from different industries in this sector.
“Power shortage is one of the biggest problems in the world today. To fight it, Baufarm and Elipse have been working together to develop and provide smarter SCADA systems capable of providing optimal solutions for managing processes related to power distribution”, affirmed Baufarm’s president and one of the creators of this Roadshow, Andy Liao.
During the eight days of the event, attendees could get to know more details about solutions developed by Elipse in the power area. Especially the load shedding module of Elipse Power, a technology developed to keep the availability of loads with high importance for the system when facing an outage from a supplier source.
Elipse Plant Manager (EPM), a solution that provides a fast, simple, and reliable way of collecting, storing, querying, and analyzing data was another technology presented. By using its full compatibility with OPC UA (Unified Architecture) standard and its native integration with Python language, EPM offers a collaborative environment for handling real-time and historical information in a quick and reliable way, and with high scalability.
In addition to these already known products, Power and EPM, Elipse used this event to talk about its new software, Elipse Mobile. With it, users have access to all screens of SCADA applications in the company using mobile devices (cell phones, smart phones, tablets, etc.). Therefore, users do not need to be in an operation room to monitor a system.
Manager of Elipse in Taiwan, Evan Liu, was very pleased with the Roadshow. An event that, according to him, not only served to present products of the company to the power segment, but also to reinforce a partnership with Taiwanese company Baufarm.
“Roadshow was a success. Attendees showed interest and confidence in all solutions presented. I would like to thank Baufarm for their support and efforts, without which none of this could be possible”, he said.
